about
This song has emerged over the past five years, mirroring the gradually improving mental health of its writer, moving from a dark place to one of more light and hope for the future.
On the surface, Touch The Moon is an invitation to adventure - to fly off on a quest to outer space together with the singer. However, the song’s deceptive simplicity disguises a wealth of multi-layered references to identity, individuality, and improvisation. As we embark on the journey, we find that we’re actually being invited to be ourselves, not to have all the answers, and to make things up as we go along.
Entreating us to “think what we think” and “do what we do”, the chorus takes position against the increasingly authoritarian nature of our society and insists that we stick to our guns in the face of oppression and negativity. Ultimately though, Touch The Moon calls upon us not to worry about the little things, create our own narrative and have fun along the way. Or is it simply a love song? That’s for the listener to decide.

Touch The Moon. lyrics
Intro
Come away with me, we’ll see the stars tonight
Just you wait and see, we’ll get there soon
Escape with me, we’ll be out of sight
Join my fantasy we’ll touch the moon
Pre-chorus
We’ll do what we do, don’t what we don’t, could or we should or we will or we won’t
Think what we think, we’ll like what we like, We’ll do what we do me and you.
Chorus
We’ll be what we’ll be, we’ll see what we see,
We’ll know that we know that we know that we know what we know
Verse
We’ll read books that we’ve never read
Or perhaps we just forgot
But we won’t worry bout the little things
We’ll write our own plot
Verse
We’ll sing songs that we’ve never sung
We won’t have a key
So we’ll just have to extemporise
Make up our own melody
Chorus
We’ll be what we’ll be, we’ll see what we see,
We’ll know that we know that we know that we know what we know
Verse
We’ll star in movies we’ve never seen
Have fun in the pretending
We won’t know much but we’ll improvise
Find our own happy ending
Chorus
We’ll be what we’ll be, we’ll see what we see,
We’ll know that we know that we know that we know what we know
We’ll be what we’ll be, we’ll see what we see,
We’ll know that we know that we know that we know what we know
Outro
